AP Singh elected president of Lions Club International for 2025–2026

Lions Clubs International has elected AP Singh of Kolkata, as its International President for the 2025–2026 financial year, starting a new chapter in the leadership of the world’s largest humanitarian service organisation. A member of the Lions community since 1984, Singh brings over four decades of service and leadership experience to the role.All through his tenure, Singh has served in several key positions including district governor, council chairperson, and chair of the National SightFirst Committee of India, which is a global initiative dedicated to preventing blindness and supporting people with visual impairments.

He has played a significant role in fundraising for Campaign SightFirst II and Campaign 100. “Serving as the Lions Clubs International President is both an honour and a responsibility I embrace with humility and commitment,” said Singh, post his appointment. “Together, we will continue to uplift neighbourhoods, inspire new generations of Lions, and strengthen our service impact across the globe.”Renowned for his dedication to humanitarian work, Singh has led and supported projects in healthcare access, disaster relief, hunger alleviation, childhood education, support for special needs children, micro-finance, and blindness prevention, especially in under-resourced areas.

As Singh aims to focus on expanding the global presence and impact of Lions Club International, his vision includes promoting membership growth, encouraging the formation of interest-based networks, adopting AI technologies and integrating service engagements with travel to strengthen Lions Clubs’ global reach.

Additionally, he will guide the organisation in advancing critical priorities such as youth participation, sustainable development, and inclusive community service, ensuring that Lions Clubs International continues to thrive in an ever-changing world.
