
The government has kept its financial year 2026 disinvestment target at ₹47,000 crore, according to data from the Budget documents.For financial year 2025, the revised estimates stands at ₹33,000 crore, compared to the budgeted estimate of ₹50,000 crore.
In an interaction with CNBC-TV18 on Saturday, Department of Disinvestment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) secretary Arunish Chawla said that they will move “very quickly” on asset monetisation this year.
The DIPAM Secretary said that while there is no fixed disinvestment target, the aim is to optimise value by managing government assets.Speaking about the much awaited IDBI Bank disinvestment, Chawla said that that the process is on track and that there will be further updates on it in due course to which Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey said that financial bids for IDBI Bank will come by March and before the end of the financial year.First Published: Feb 1, 2025 12:29 PM IST
