Caught on camera: Indian man assaulted for ‘acting superior’ at Canada restaurant

Date:

A disturbing video from a Toronto food outlet has gone viral, showing a man assaulting an Indian employee inside a fast-food restaurant. The shocking footage, which is now widely circulated on social media, has sparked outrage over the rising cases faced by immigrants. In the now-viral clip, a purportedly intoxicated man can be seen assaulting another man inside what appeared to be a McDonald’s store, India Today reported. The man, who was wearing a Toronto Blue Jays jacket, approached another individual believed to be of Indian descent near the ‘Mobile Order Pick Up’ counter.

The white man flung his phone away in rage, prompting the Indian man to pick it up. Following this, the visibly drunk individual approached him, pushed him, and grabbed him by the collar. He accused the other individual of ‘acting superior’ in front of him.

When the Indian man said, “You might get yourself in trouble,” the other quickly responded, “Did you say that to me?” The confrontation quickly turned from an argument to a physical assault as the Canadian man continued to push and hold him, while repeating, “What did you just say to me?”Despite the violence, the Indian man seemed to defend himself without any retaliation. Moments later, a staff worker intervened and advised both guys to ‘take it outside’.

The aggressor continued to accuse the Indian man of arrogance before being taken from the premises.

Sharing the video on X, a user wrote, “A shocking video has surfaced showing a drunk Canadian man attacking an Indian man simply because he believes the Indian is acting superior. Until Indians abroad stand up to bullies like this, they will be run over again and again and remain easy targets. Don’t let fear silence you. STAND UP!”

The incident comes days after a similar assault on an Indian worker at a fast-food restaurant in Oakville, Ontario. In the video shared online, a young man can be seen hurling racist slurs at the worker. “Go back to your f*ing country, you stinky Indian,” he is heard saying.
