The remarks come ahead of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s two-day state visit to India on August 18 where he is scheduled to meet his Indian counterpart EAM S Jaishankar in New Delhi.
The Chinese official is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, August 19.Yi’s meeting with Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are expected to deliberate upon several issues ranging from border tensions, bilateral trade, and resuming flight operations between the two countries.

Earlier in July, EAM Jaishankar visited China to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
The efforts play a significant role in resolving bilateral issues, following the deadly clashes in 2020 in Galwan Valley.
