The shares of Infosys are trading 0.7% in the green at 10:20 am on Tuesday, February 18. The stock has fallen 1.6% in the year so far.
According to reports, Cognizant’s latest filing on February 7 follows Infosys’s January countersuit, in which it accused Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S., formerly an Infosys executive, of delaying Infosys’s healthcare software rollout while negotiating his move to Cognizant.
The dispute first came to light in August 2024, when Cognizant accused Infosys of stealing trade secrets from TriZetto. Infosys rejected the claims in a January 9 filing, stating that the information in question was publicly available. Infosys also urged the court to instruct Cognizant to clearly specify which trade secrets had allegedly been stolen. In its latest response, Cognizant maintains that Infosys had unauthorised access to confidential data through non-disclosure and access agreements (NDAAs). Cognizant further alleges that Infosys has blocked attempts to audit its use of TriZetto’s information, which could verify whether confidential material was misused.
Cognizant is represented by Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, while Infosys is being defended by Jenner & Block LLP.
