Gandhi’s statement comes at a crucial time when Trump has imposed an additional 25% levy on top of an existing 25% tariff, targeting Indian goods entering the US with some exceptions. On July 31, Gandhi posted another message on X, calling the Indian economy dead and openly backing a similar comment from Trump.Rahul Gandhi was asked about the remark in the Parliament complex, to which he replied, “Yes, he is right. Everybody knows this except the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister. Everybody knows that the Indian economy is a dead economy. I am glad that President Trump has stated a fact… The entire world knows that the Indian economy is a dead economy.”
