Their goal was to usurp President Trump and subvert the will of the American people.

Her post was accompanied by the release of new intelligence records. Gabbard said that there is ‘overwhelming evidence’ showing intelligence was manipulated after Trump’s electoral win to lay the groundwork for what she described as a ‘years-long coup.’
In a statement issued on July 18, DNI Gabbard said, “The information we are releasing today clearly shows there was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government. Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup to try to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people.”
According to Gabbard, the actions involved top Obama-era officials, including “James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, John Kerry, Loretta Lynch, and Andrew McCabe.” She claims these officials attended a National Security Council meeting at the White House on December 9, 2016.
“After the meeting, DNI Clapper’s executive assistant sent an email to IC leaders tasking them with creating a new IC assessment ‘per the President’s request’ that details the ‘tools Moscow used and actions it took to influence the 2016 election’,” added the statement.
Obama-era officials reportedly provided misleading information to media outlets such as The Washington Post, alleging that Russia had used cyber tactics to interfere with or influence the outcome of the election.
A memo dated December 7, 2016, reportedly confirmed that, “Foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the US Presidential election outcome.”
Agencies such as the CIA, FBI, NSA and Department of Homeland Security were tasked with compiling a fresh assessment, which eventually became the controversial IC report released on January 6, 2017. This assessment allegedly contradicted earlier findings and was partly based on sources Gabbard described as unreliable or fabricated.
Gabbard emphasised that “no matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
