“The department is announcing a new awareness campaign warning Americans, especially Iranian Americans, about the continuing severe risks of travel to Iran,” State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said.
“The Iranian regime does not recognise dual nationality and routinely denies consular services to detained US citizens. And while the bombing has stopped, that does not mean that it is safe to travel to Iran, it is not,” she added.Bruce declared the opening of a new website, stating that all information pertaining to travel warnings that caution Americans against visiting Iran will be available on the site.
“Do not travel to Iran, especially those of you who are dual citizens who have Iranian heritage. It is not safe for anyone to travel to Iran,” she continued.

According to US President Donald Trump, Iranian officials have contacted the US to arrange for discussions over Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump stated earlier this week that he is cautiously optimistic about preventing more military action against Iran, pointing out that Tehran is opposed to such action.
He added that Iran wants to meet with the two countries and “work something out” so that there will not be any more military operations, The Hindu reported.
