Donald Trump becomes 47th US president — ‘America’s decline is over!

Date:

Donald Trump officially returned to power on Monday, January 20, after taking the oath of office during his inauguration at the US Capitol Arena in Washington, DC.

Trump took the oath on two Bibles — one given to him by his mother, and the famed Lincoln Bible, which he had used when he was first sworn in on January 20, 2017.

The oath was administered by Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts. Trump, for the second — and last — time in his political career, recited the 35-word presidential oath: “I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God”

Trump, delivering his inaugural address, proudly proclaimed, “From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer … America’s decline is over!”

Earlier, Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, took the oath of office to become the 50th Vice President of the United States. Vance’s oath was administered by Justice Brett Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court: “I, James David Vance, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
