Notable attendees
As is customary, the Vice President and Speaker of the House will be seated behind the President during the address. However, a key figure drawing attention this year is billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Serving as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and a senior advisor to Trump, Musk has played a prominent role in shaping federal policy. His presence—or absence—at the event is likely to fuel speculation about his influence within the administration, The Feed reported.
Foreign policy focus
Trump’s speech follows a tense meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where negotiations over a key minerals agreement collapsed. During the exchange, Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance reportedly took a firm stance, telling Zelensky, “You either make a deal, or we are out.”
With U.S. support for Ukraine remaining a contentious issue, Trump’s remarks on the matter will be closely scrutinised.
