Earthquake of 6.2 magnitude strikes Philippines, no tsunami warning

An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude has struck Philippines on Tuesday (June 24), no tsunami warnings has been issued by the authorities as of yet.The earthquake struck at 7:28 am on June 24 morning in the East of Philippine islands, as per the National Centre for Seismology.
The depth of the earthquake is estimated at 10 km below the surface.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, which reported the quake at a magnitude of 6.4, said no tsunami alert had been triggered, reported AFP.

The last major earthquake that struck Philippines was in July 2022 of magnitude 7 on the Richter Scale. It triggered landslides ground fissures in country’s northern region of Abra. 11 deaths were reported and 609 people were injured, as per AFP.
