Essar Shipping Ltd. on Thursday, August 14, said it received a notice from the Serious Fraud Investigation Office.In an exchange filing, it stated the notice calls for investigation into the affairs of the company under Section 212 of the Companies Act, 2013, calling for information.
It said the notice was received from the SFIO’s office on August 13. However, it is dated August 11, 2025.
The stock exchange did not mention any other details regarding the notice.The company said there is no material impact on the financial operation or other activities of the company.
Shares of Essar Shipping were trading 1.79% lower at ₹26.85 apiece at 12.55 pm on Wednesday, August 14. The stock has declined 7.3% in the past month and 27.6% this year, so far. The stock is under Stage 1 of the ESM framework.
