The European Commission is preparing a new round of sanctions against Russia that would include a proposed cut to the oil price cap and a ban on using the Nord Stream pipelines, according to a report by the Financial Times on Tuesday.
Citing three sources familiar with the plans, the report says Brussels aims to lower the current price cap on Russian oil exports from $60 to $45 per barrel.
The sanctions package would also prohibit the use of key Russian energy infrastructure, including both Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2.
