Facelifted BYD Atto 3 to debut with ‘God’s Eye’ ADAS system and 521 km range

Date:

The BYD Atto 3, the first electric passenger vehicle launched by Chinese automaker BYD in India, has been globally updated with the new advanced driver-assistance system, God’s Eye C as its standout feature.Official images of the facelifted all-electric SUV, known as the Yuan Plus in China, emerged online recently, revealing enhanced technology and a redesigned exterior ahead of its anticipated debut in the coming months.

The “God’s Eye C” system equips the Atto 3 with a three-camera module under the windshield, four surround-view cameras, five long-range cameras, five mm-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 29 sensors in total.

BYD states it supports 10 high-speed navigation scenarios and six intelligent parking modes, marking a significant upgrade to the SUV’s ADAS capabilities. While the interior remains under wraps, the focus on this technology highlights BYD’s push for advanced driver assistance.
Externally, the facelifted Atto 3 sports a redesigned front fascia featuring a sportier bumper and a larger trapezoidal air intake with slimmer flanking intakes. The headlights stay the same, linked by the “Dragon’s Whiskers” chrome strip. At the rear, updates include a new roof spoiler with dual brake lights, full-width tail lamps with a “Chinese knot” LED wave pattern, and dynamic turn signals. The side profile retains its shape but gains new 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheel designs and partly blackened D-pillars, aligning it closer to the smaller Atto 2 (Yuan Up in China).

Mechanically, the Atto 3 facelift is expected to remain unchanged. In India, it offers a 49.92 kWh battery with a 468 km range or a 60.5 kWh pack with a 521 km range (ARAI figures), both powering a front-mounted electric motor delivering 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque.

Globally, these translate to 345 km and 420 km WLTP ranges, or up to 510 km under China’s CLTC conditions.

BYD has yet to confirm the exact launch timeline, but the facelifted Atto 3 is expected to reach India after its global rollout, following its debut in China.

The current India-spec model comes in three variants—Dynamic, Premium, and Superior—priced from ₹25 lakh to ₹34 lakh (ex-showroom). In China, it ranges from 116,800 to 144,800 yuan (£12,600 to £17,100).
