NVIDIA has introduced NVIDIA Halos, a full-stack safety system designed to enhance the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs). This innovative system integrates NVIDIA’s hardware, software, tools, and AI research to create a unified framework for AV safety from cloud to car.Halos is built to address the growing need for advanced safety in autonomous systems, combining platform, algorithmic, and ecosystem safety. It includes solutions for AI training, simulation, and deployment, leveraging NVIDIA’s DGX, Omniverse, Cosmos, and DRIVE AGX technologies. (Image: NVIDIA)
The system also features NVIDIA DriveOS, a safety-certified operating system, and DRIVE AGX Hyperion, a hardware platform that connects sensors, processors, and software. Halos supports safe data handling, unbiased training datasets, and automated safety evaluations while enabling continuous improvements through a data-driven feedback loop.Complementing Halos is the AI Systems Inspection Lab, a program accredited for integrating functional safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. Industry leaders such as Ficosa, OMNIVISION, onsemi, and Continental have joined the initiative. With over 15,000 engineering years invested in vehicle safety, 1,000+ patents filed, and 240+ research papers published, NVIDIA continues to lead in AV safety innovation. Halos represents a major step forward in creating safer, more reliable autonomous vehicles. Also read | NVIDIA GTC 2025: Jensen Huang unveils breakthroughs in AI and computingFirst Published: Mar 19, 2025 12:00 AM IST
