Legendary composer Hans Zimmer is bringing his iconic scores to cinemas worldwide with the upcoming concert film Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert. This unique cinematic experience captures a live performance of Zimmer’s best-loved works, including music from Dune, Gladiator, Interstellar, The Lion King, and more, filmed against the stunning backdrop of Dubai’s iconic landmarks.The film, which will be released in limited screenings beginning March 19, was shot at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena and the Al Wasl Plaza dome at Expo City Dubai, showcasing the magic of Zimmer’s compositions with a world-class orchestra and his band. The concert blends the beauty of the Arabian Desert with the grandeur of Dubai, from the iconic Burj Al Arab to the vast dunes. It also marks Zimmer’s first official collaboration with a destination, where he composed the original piece Diamond in the Desert, inspired by his time in the city.
Zimmer’s long-time collaborators, including Billie Eilish, Sir Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and others, share their thoughts in exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews, offering insights into the creative process behind Zimmer’s music.
