India’s sporting and entertainment giants came together at the National Fitness & Wellness Conclave 2025 in Mumbai, where Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya felicitated World Cup-winning cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, and Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty with the Fit India Icon titles.The conclave, hosted at The Trident, Mumbai, celebrated the nation’s growing commitment to physical and mental well-being under the Fit India Mission, which aims to inspire citizens to adopt a healthier lifestyle in the journey towards a Fit and Viksit Bharat.
Dr. Mandaviya, joined by Minister of State Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse and Union Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao, lauded the honourees for using their platforms to champion fitness and discipline. “India’s youth look up to icons like them, who embody the spirit of perseverance and healthy living both on and off the field,” he said.
While Harbhajan Singh shared how fitness shaped his longevity in cricket, Saina Nehwal, a 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist, emphasized the importance of consistency and nutrition in athletic performance. Rohit Shetty, known for his action-packed films, highlighted how physical strength and mental balance go hand in hand in the film industry.The event underscored how the Fit India Mission has evolved into a national movement, bridging sports, cinema, and wellness through shared values of endurance and excellence.With the country’s leading athletes and cultural figures uniting under one fitness banner, the conclave reinforced the message that staying fit is no longer a choice—but a national commitment.
