A vehicle carrying 14 people plunged into a canal in Fatehabad, Haryana on Saturday, February 1, night, killing six people and injuring two others. The remaining six persons have been missing.The 14 people had attended a wedding ceremony in Fazilka, Punjab, and the incident occurred while they were returning, said Jagdish Chandra, SDM, Fatehabad, Haryana. He added that three people were rescued at night. Of them, one succumbed.

Five other bodies were recovered as well and later identified, Chandra said.The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Forc (SDRF) teams are conducting the rescue operations.
