‘Head back home to South Africa’: Donald Trump tells Elon Musk in fresh spat over ‘big, beautiful Bill’

Date:

The US Senate is in the midst of a marathon session as Republicans scramble to gather enough votes to push through President Donald Trump’s budget Bill. The proposed legislation, which faces stiff opposition, is set to add over $3 trillion to the national debt while slashing key welfare programmes, including healthcare and Social Security benefits. The political drama is unfolding alongside a renewed clash between President Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk. The two resumed their sparring on social media, with Musk vowing to unseat lawmakers who support the budget Bill. He also called for the formation of a new political party to counter what he described as reckless fiscal policies.

In response, the US president, in a post on Truth Social, lashed out at the Tesla CEO: “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign… Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. (sic)”
He added, “No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE… BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!” Musk fired back, saying, “I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”Also Read: China and Europe test each other ahead of a crucial summit
