“Virat was asked if he would like to captain but he has also said that he would like Ayush to continue leading the side,” a DDCA official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
The BCCI and domestic broadcasters JioCinema opted to live stream the game given the active interest around the same following Kohli’s participation.

The BCCI’s general norm dictates that it airs one premier game and for this game it was supposed to be one between Karnataka and Haryana, since KL Rahul too was playing that fixture.
The other two matches that are being live streamed are the ones between Punjab vs Bengal at the Eden Gardens and Baroda vs Jammu and Kashmir in Baroda.
This roster was prepared well in advance and if Kohli didn’t play, there was no chance of any deviation from the same.
However, there was a social media uproar about the streaming of this game, since it is the first time that Kohli is playing a Ranji Trophy encounter in 12 years.
“A decision has been taken and JioCinema will live stream the game. So all the Virat Kohli fans who are not in Delhi, need not worry. They can watch their favourite player live,” a BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
