With Chitale’s appointment, Vikram Kasbekar, who has been serving as the Acting CEO, will step down from the role but continue as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the company.
Chitale, an alumnus of IIT Delhi and recipient of the prestigious Director’s Gold Medal, brings with him over three decades of global leadership experience spanning both B2B and B2C businesses. He has a proven track record in industrial automation, lighting, IT services, and digital transformation.
Most recently, Chitale served as Global CEO of Signify’s €4 billion Professional Business, where he led a workforce of 12,000 employees across 70 countries, overseeing manufacturing, supply chain, product development and digital initiatives.Prior to that, he played a key role as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Philips Lighting India, where he successfully executed the spin-off of the business into a standalone public company while consolidating its market leadership.
His earlier leadership stints include top roles at HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation India, where he delivered significant growth and strengthened shareholder value. Beyond his corporate career, Chitale is also an active angel investor in electric vehicles, clean energy, health-tech and agri-tech ventures.
Chitale’s appointment comes at a time when the company focuses on accelerating growth in premium motorcycles, EVs and global markets, while also driving digital and technological transformation, Hero MotoCorp informed the bourses.
Shares of Hero MotoCorp were trading at ₹ 5,380.5 apiece, up 0.34%, on the BSE at 9:36 AM.
