How Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump Jr reacted to Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis

Date:

Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. It had a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5).According to a statement from his office, Biden was diagnosed with the illness after he experienced urinary symptoms last week. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” it read.
Several political leaders, including former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, President Donald Trump, and others, shared support for the Democratic leader.
Here are some of the messages in support of Biden after his diagnosis was made public:Donald Trump

President Donald Trump said that he and First Lady Melania Trump were saddened to hear about ‘Biden’s recent medical diagnosis’. In a post on Truth Social, he wrote, “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Barack Obama

Former President Barack Obama also posted a sincere message and wished Biden well on X.  “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” he wrote.

Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff

Former Vice President Kamala Harris also posted that she and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were keeping Biden and his family in their ‘hearts and prayers’. “Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery,” she said on X. Her husband also added a note on his own account, writing, “Sending love and strength to my friend @JoeBiden.”

Bill and Hillary Clinton

Former President Bill Clinton wrote on X, “My friend Joe Biden’s always been a fighter. Hillary and I are rooting for him and are keeping him, Jill, and the entire family in our thoughts.”

Former State Secretary Hillary Clinton also shared her regards and wrote, “I’m thinking of the Bidens as they take on cancer, a disease they’ve done so much to try to spare other families from. Wishing you a speedy, full recovery.”

PM ways

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over Joe Biden’s health and wished him a quick recovery. “Deeply concerned to hear about @JoeBiden’s health. Extend our best wishes to him for a quick and full recovery. Our thoughts are with Dr. Jill Biden and the family,” he wrote on X

Marco Rubio

Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement on behalf of himself and his wife. In a post on X, he wrote, “Jeanette and I are united in prayer for the Biden Family during this difficult time.”

Pete Buttigieg

Upon learning the news, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg posted, “President Biden is a man of deep faith and extraordinary resilience. Chasten and I are keeping him, and the entire Biden family, in our prayers for strength and healing.”

Mike Johnson

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R, La.) also extended his well wishes to the former President. “This is certainly sad news, and the Johnson family will be joining the countless others who are praying for the former President in the wake of his diagnosis,” he said.

Nancy Pelosi

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she was praying for Biden. On X, she wrote, “President Joe Biden is a great American patriot. Paul and I join the millions across the country and around the world praying for him to have strength and a swift recovery in the battle against cancer. Sending love to him and his family.”

Vivek Ramaswamy

Vivek Ramaswamy, the former 2024 Republican presidential primary candidate who is now running for Governor in Ohio, also wished Biden well. “Politics aside, let’s pray for the health of our nation’s former President. His case of metastatic prostate cancer appears to be still in the hormone-sensitive disease stage, which leaves open the possibility of effective treatment,” Ramaswamy posted.

Chuck Schumer

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D, N.Y.) said, “I am praying for President Biden and the entire Biden family.”

Hakeem Jeffries

Soon after Biden’s cancer diagnosis went public, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D, N.Y.) issued a statement, stating, “The House Democratic Caucus and our nation are praying for President Joe Biden and his family as he battles this challenging medical diagnosis. Over the years, the Biden family has confronted unimaginable adversity with grace and steadfast perseverance. We stand with President Biden as he confronts this moment with the same courage and resilience he has shown throughout his life,” Jeffries said.

Some questioned how such an aggressive form of cancer could go untreated while he was President.

US President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, raised his controversial question on X, writing, “What I want to know is how did Dr Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???”

This comes after he wrote in another post that he “agreed 100%” with a post that read, “Politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery!”

Benny Johnson, an American political commentator and YouTuber, said, “This is the Most Dangerous Cover-up in the History of the Presidency.”

“Last summer, White House Physician Dr Kevin O’Connor swore to the American people that Joe Biden was “completely fit for the Presidency” — no issues, nothing to see. Absolute scandal. They knew. They lied. They hid it. For power. People need to be held accountable for this. Evil,” he added.
