New regulatory steps such as the Emirates Drug Establishment were highlighted as easing concerns for Indian pharmaceutical firms.Both sides stressed the importance of the Local Currency Settlement System (INR-AED) and Bharat Mart in Dubai to support trade. On Aug. 30, the ministers co-chaired meetings with pharma and food industry representatives.In food, India’s APEDA launched the Bharati Scheme to incubate over 100 agritech start-ups and signed an MoU with DWTC making India the partner country for the 2026 Gulf Food exhibition in Dubai.
