External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is set to embark on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland from March 4 to 9, to strengthen diplomatic ties and engage with key stakeholders.During his visit to the UK, Jaishankar will hold discussions with his British counterpart, Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and meet several high-ranking officials. He is also expected to interact with members of the Indian diaspora, the ministry said in a statement today, March 3.
India and the UK share a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, encompassing defence, security, trade, health, and education. The visit is expected to reinforce these collaborations and advance shared priorities.
Jaishankar will then travel to Ireland from March 6 to 7, where he will meet Irish Foreign Minister Simon Harris, other dignitaries, and representatives of the Indian community.”India and Ireland share friendly bilateral relations based on shared democratic values, cultural ties, and growing economic engagement,” the statement said.
