Retaining its position as India’s top exporting state in FY 2024-25 despite a recording a marginal dip compared to the previous financial year, Gujarat’s merchandise exports worth ₹9.83 lakh crore constituted for nearly 26.6% of India’s total merchandise exports for the FY.Contributing to over 33% of the state’s exports due outbound shipments from its petroleum refineries, Jamnagar continues to lead the state’s export dominance with exports worth ₹3.63 lakh crores, as per a report by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
The top five export commodities from Gujarat in FY 2024-25 were Petroleum Products, Gems and Jewellery, Organic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, and Engineering Goods (Machinery).
The state continued to maintain its lead in exports by a margin of nearly ₹4.3 lakh crores more than Maharashtra, which ranked as the 2nd largest exporter with exports clocking ₹5.57 lakh crores.The states ranking 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th were Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, respectively.Commending Uttar Pradesh for diversification in its export markets to reach both traditional and emerging economies across continents, FIEO said that the US continues to be the top-ranking export destination from India’s most populous state.Uttar Pradesh accounted for 5% of India’s exports in FY 2024-25 with total merchandise exports worth ₹1.86 lakh crores.Also Read: Adani Infrastructure acquires 34.41% stake in PSP Projects, joins as promoter with joint control
