Scavino, who also serves as an assistant to President Donald Trump, congratulated Patel in Bollywood style. He dropped a scene from the song Malhari of the 2015 film, Bajirao Mastani.
The face of actor Ranveer Singh was edited out, with Indian-origin Patel taking centre stage and celebrating his victory with an emphatic dance. “Congratulations to the new Director of the FBI, Kash Patel,” Scavino wrote on X (formerly Twitter). The post received some hilarious reactions.
“Too bad that non-Hindi speaking Americans won’t realize how apt the song’s lyrics fit for the moment!” read a remark.

Kash Patel takes charge of the FBI during a turbulent period, with the Justice Department forcing out several bureau officials and looking for the thousands of agents who were associated with investigations related to the January 2021 riot at the US Capitol.
Patel remains determined to bring some major changes to the institution. He has already revealed his plans to reduce the footprint at the headquarters in Washington. He also wants to prioritise the department’s traditional crime-fighting duties over other works like intelligence-gathering and overseeing national security.
Several Democrats raised questions about Patel’s qualifications and his capability to operate the FBI. He, however, was supported by the majority of the Republican Party including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who was earlier against other Trump nominees. Only Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine did not vote for Patel.
