Kyiv can’t ‘ensure safety’ of global leaders visiting Moscow: Zelensky

Date:

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow was responsible for the safety of world leaders visiting Russia for the grand World War II commemorations planned next week.”Our position is very simple towards all countries that have travelled or are travelling to Russia on May 9 — we cannot take responsibility for what is happening on the territory of the Russian Federation. They are ensuring your safety,” he said to some journalists including AFP on Friday, in remarks embargoed until Saturday.
The war in Ukraine that started in 2022, with the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, has seen many phases over the past 3 years.
In its current chapter, the situation at hand has only evolved in complexity with the involvement of the US president, Donald Trump, whose peace brokering efforts have failed to achieve the primary goal of peace.Talks between the relevant parties continue to remain inconclusive, as the war rages on.
