Lenskart’s upcoming IPO has revealed an unusual red flag: one of its co-founders and promoters, Sumeet Kapahi, cannot locate his college degree—and the issuing university isn’t responding either. The eyewear retailer has disclosed this as a formal risk factor in its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) filed with SEBI.Kapahi, who serves as Lenskart’s Global Head of Sourcing, has been unable to retrieve his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and marksheet from the University of Delhi, despite repeated efforts. The company notes that while Kapahi has completed the degree in question, the lack of documentation and verification compelled Lenskart to flag the issue in its regulatory filing.
“The University of Delhi has not responded to follow-up communications,” the DRHP states.
