Initially inaugurated last month before the Kumbh Mela began, the government is now urging people to witness the show. In a February 1 post on X, the government said, “Witness the breathtaking water laser show at Kali Ghat, Yamuna Bank Road, Prayagraj during #MahaKumbh2025! Experience the magic as light and sound bring the Kumbh Katha to life.” The show uses cutting-edge laser technology to project vivid images onto a water screen, narrating significant events related to Maha Kumbh, Hindu epics, and the spiritual essence of Prayagraj.

Spectacular visuals of the Om symbol, Ramayan, and Mahabharata and other Hindu epics make it a must-watch attraction. The laser show runs daily from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Kali Ghat, Kydganj, Prayagraj, near the Boat Club, between the Old Yamuna Bridge and the New Yamuna Bridge. Each show lasts 45 minutes and entry is completely free for all devotees. The UP government and Prayagraj administration have heavily invested in ensuring a seamless experience for the estimated 45 crore devotees projected to attend the Kumbh. The light show was inaugurated by Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ on January 12. Developed at approximately ₹20 crore, the show was created by a team of about 100 people in just 60 days, news agency ANI reported. The private company behind the project has previously organised similar water laser shows in Ayodhya and Jhansi. During the inauguration, Minister Nandi described the show as a historic and visually stunning experience. On social media, he said that the laser show would operate daily, and said “the Kumbh Katha will be displayed on the water screen.” Minister Nandi also said that the water laser show will provide an “attractive and visually stunning experience” to the tourists visiting the grand event.Continue Reading
