Mauritius PM Ramgoolam visits Ram Temple in Ayodhya, welcomed by CM Yogi | Watch

Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam on Friday (September 12) offered prayers at the Ram temple in Ayodhya during his ongoing state visit to India.

He was accompanied by his wife Veena Ramgoolam and a 30-member delegation of officials. On his arrival, Ramgoolam was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Cabinet Minister Surya Pratap Shahi.

The route from the airport to the temple was decorated with posters and banners to mark the visit. Watch the videos here:

Ramgoolam also reviewed the progress of the temple’s construction and was briefed by officials.

UP Cabinet Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said, “A large number of people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar went to Mauritius during British rule and are in the mainstream there. They have kept the cultural identity of India alive. We welcome the Prime Minister of Mauritius in Ayodhya.”

Ramgoolam offered prayers at Ram Janmbhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanying him.

Later, he departed from the city after completing the rituals at the temple.

Earlier in the day, the Mauritius PM paid obeisance at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.

Ramgoolam is currently in India from September 9 to 16. On Thursday (September 11), he held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and signed several agreements to boost the relations.
