On Epstein files, Elon Musk once again questions Donald Trump’s credibility

Date:

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reignited his feud with US President Donald Trump over the Jeffrey Epstein files. The tech billionaire and former ally of the US President accused the government of shielding offenders and called it “deeply broken”.In a series of posts on X, Musk criticised Trump for not publishing the so-called “Epstein client list” and also mocked the lack of arrests. “They arrested (and killed) Peanut, but have not even tried to file charges against anyone on the Epstein client list. Government is deeply broken,” he wrote.
He also shared a picture that read, “More squirrels and raccoons have been arrested than anyone on Epstein’s client list.”

In a follow-up post, he questioned Trump’s credibility over the long-suppressed Epstein files. “How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?” he added.

Musk has vowed to make exposing the Epstein files a priority for his new political party, the ‘America Party’. When a user asked if revealing Epstein-related information would be a top priority, Musk responded with a “100” emoji.

Earlier, on Monday, Musk mocked the Trump administration’s handling of the case, posting an image that read, “The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter” with the counter set to “0000”. “What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again,” he captioned the post.

In another post on X, Elon Musk posted a meme featuring a clown applying makeup, stating, “There is no Epstein list.”

On Monday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation reaffirmed that sex offender Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in federal custody in 2019. The memo stated that a “systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list. ’”

During a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Trump slammed a reporter for asking questions about Jeffrey Epstein, claiming that continuing to discuss the disgraced billionaire financier was a ‘waste’ of time.

“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years. Are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable. Do you want to waste time?” he said.

“I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, where we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas,” he added.

Musk previously alleged that Trump had ties to Epstein, stating, “Time to drop the really big bomb. [Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.” In another post, the tech mogul added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” However, the post was also later deleted.

Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of sexual offences and accused of running a large network of young girls for sex. He died in custody in the year 2019.
