Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) on Friday (July 18) said it has secured a contract worth ₹239.98 crore, inclusive of taxes, from NHPC Ltd for civil and hydro mechanical works at the Teesta-V power station in Sikkim.The scope of work involves modifying the diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway arrangement under Package 6 of the project. Located in the South District of Sikkim, the project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Key components include construction of the tunnel spillway, gate operation chamber and shaft, precast bridge, access road, energy dissipation structures, dyke, environmental flow tunnel, and related infrastructure.

This particular project includes civil works for the Kondhane dam construction. The dam will have a length of 1209m and a height of 83m.In addition, the deal also involves allied works as well as Hydro Mechanical and Electrical works, including 3 radial gates and electrical & manual gate control and other electrification works. The project is slated to be completed within 42 months.
