In percentage terms, retail shareholding in Paytm fell to 9.73% from 10.41% at the end of the March quarter. This is the fifth straight quarter of retail shareholding declining in Paytm. In March 2024, Paytm had a total of 12.05 lakh retail shareholders.

While Founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s stake remained unchanged at 9.07%, domestic mutual funds continued to place bets on the stock.India’s Mutual Funds had a 13.86% stake in Paytm as of June 30, higher than the 13.11% they owned in March. Mirae Asset MF (3.2%), Motilal Oswal MF (2.61%), Nippon MF (2.55%) and Bandhan MF (1.02%) are among the prominent shareholders.
The share of foreign portfolio investors in Paytm has also come down from 55.38% in March to 54.87% at the end of June.
Shares of Paytm had risen 18% during the April-June period, but continue to remain below their IPO price of ₹2,150.
Shares of Paytm ended 0.4% higher on Friday at ₹944.1. The stock remains 56% below its IPO price, and has risen 7% in the last one month.
