The Prime Minister said his visit to Marseille will comprise important programmes aimed at further connecting India and France.
PM Modi and Macron will visit the Mazargues War Cemetery, which is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Marseille to pay their tribute to the sacrifices the Indian soldiers made in World War I. They will then inaugurate the new Consulate General of India in Marseille. The two leaders are also scheduled to visit Cadarache, which is the site of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a high-science project.

After his visit to France, the Prime Minister will fly to the US, for the second leg of his two-nation tour, from February 12 to 13. He is set to meet US President Donald Trump on February 13 and discussions are likely to focus on reducing import tariffs, increasing purchases of US energy and defence equipment and addressing long-standing trade issues.
