State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) on Thursday (March 6) said it has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for the “Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III PS for Integration of Additional RE Generation Projects.””…this is to inform that Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish Inter-State transmission system for the project namely “Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III PS for Integration of Additional RE Generation Projects” on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis,” Power Grid Corporation said in a regulatory filing.
The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis, with the Letter of Intent (LoI) received on March 6, 2025. The project scope includes the augmentation of transformation capacity at the existing Kurnool-III substation, extension works at the C’peta substation, and the establishment of a 765kV double-circuit transmission line, all within Andhra Pradesh.

“The project comprises augmentation of transformation capacity at existing Kurnool-III substation and extension works at existing C’peta substation along with 765kV D/C Transmission Line. The entire scope of the project is in the State of Andhra Pradesh,” it added.Power Grid Corporation of India reported a 4.1% year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit at ₹3,861.6 crore for the third quarter that ended on December 31, 2024.

In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, Power Grid Corporation of India posted a net profit of ₹4,028.3 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. The CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted a profit of ₹4,020.5 crore for the quarter under review.
The company’s revenue from operations dipped 3% to ₹11,233 crore as against ₹11,579.8 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal. The CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted revenue of ₹11,606 crore for the quarter under review.

Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd ended at ₹266.45, up by ₹1.55, or 0.59%, on the BSE.
