Premier Energies launches India’s first 620W DCR Topcon solar modules

Date:

Premier Energies Ltd., shares declined on Friday, August 22, even as it announced the commercial operation of its 1.2 GW N-Type G12R solar cell line and the launch of high-efficiency 620 W Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) compliant Topcon solar modules. With this, the company said it becomes one of the first in India to introduce the breakthrough G12R N-Type solar cell technology.

The next-generation 620 W modules, powered by Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) architecture, deliver higher power density, improved temperature performance and stronger low-light efficiency, Premier Energies said in a stock exchange filing.

Their rectangular G12R format is designed to unlock higher string power and optimize balance-of-system (BOS) costs, making them ideal for utility-scale solar parks, commercial installations, and industrial rooftops.“This launch represents a significant milestone in India’s transition to high-efficiency solar,” said Chiranjeev Saluja, MD and CEO of Premier Energies.

He said this is the technology of the future. “As one of the first companies to introduce 620 W DCR modules, we are offering a future-ready solution to help investors and consumers extract more value from every ray of the sun,” he added. The 620 W G12R Topcon modules are designed to maximise energy yield, particularly in space-constrained rooftops and high-capacity ground-mounted projects, ensuring greater output per square meter. With next-generation Topcon cell architecture, it offers superior conversion efficiency compared to conventional PERC modules.

The rectangular G12R format further enhances system design by enabling better layout, higher string power and lower system costs. These modules have also been engineered for durability, capable of withstanding India’s challenging climatic conditions, including high heat, humidity, dust and strong winds, the company said in a press release.

The 620W G12R modules have been engineered to meet evolving consumer demands while delivering higher returns and reducing carbon impact, the company added.

Shares of Premier Energies were trading 0.76% lower at ₹1,014.9 apiece around 2pm.
