PVR Inox Q3 Results: Profit misses estimates due to lower-than-expected margins and fall in other income

Multiplex firm PVR Inox Ltd. on Thursday reported a net profit at ₹36 crore for the quarter ending December 2024. The company reported a net profit of ₹13 crore in the year-ago period.A CNBC-TV18 poll had expected the company to report a net profit of ₹49 crore.

The company’s net profit missed estimates due to lower than expected margins and a 29% fall in other income.

Revenue for the quarter rose by 11% year-on-year to ₹1,717 crore, compared to ₹1,546 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.The topline was higher than CNBC-TV18’s poll estimate of ₹1,698 crore.

PVR Inox’s operating profit or EBITDA rose 12% on-year to ₹527.5 crore as against ₹472.3 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. Margin rose to 31% in the quarter under review from last year’s 30.5%.

Following the Q3 earnings announcement, shares of PVR Inox Ltd. were trading 0.51% lower at Rs 1,126.65. So far this year, the stock has declined nearly 15%.
