RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, secured a fresh government contract worth ₹17.47 crore from the General Administration Department (GAD) of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday (July 09).The order involves the implementation of a revamped integrated communication infrastructure, including WLAN, LAN, and EPBAX systems, along with network connectivity, hardware procurement, commissioning, and long-term operation and maintenance. The project is scheduled for completion by January 14, 2031.
This latest contract adds to a string of significant orders RailTel has received in July, bringing its total order value for the month to over ₹130 crore.
On July 8, the company received a Letter of Intent from the Central Warehousing Corporation for a ₹96.99 crore project. This contract entails the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive maintenance of smart warehousing systems across 226 food grain warehouses nationwide. The project is expected to be completed by July 6, 2030.Earlier, on July 1, RailTel was awarded a ₹15.84 crore contract by the Cuttack Development Authority for the installation of eight AI-powered digital billboards across the city. This initiative is part of Cuttack’s smart city development efforts and is scheduled for completion by November 2, 2025.
