State-owned RailTel Corporation of India Ltd on Monday (July 14) said it has received a work order worth ₹264 crore (including tax) from East Central Railway for the implementation of the Kavach system, the indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS).The scope of the contract includes the provision of Kavach on 607 route kilometres of low-density railway track under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway. The project is scheduled for completion by July 14, 2027.
Last week, RailTel Corporation of India secured a fresh government contract worth ₹17.47 crore from the General Administration Department (GAD) of Chhattisgarh.

The project is scheduled for completion by January 14, 2031.

This latest contract adds to a string of significant orders RailTel has received in July, bringing its total order value for the month to over ₹130 crore.
Shares of Railtel Corporation of India Ltd ended at ₹409.70, down by ₹1.10, or 0.27%, on the BSE.
