RailTel gets Letter of Intent for ₹216 crore project from Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. on Tuesday, August 5, said it received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for a ₹216 crore project from the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BEDC)This project is for the implementation of Mukhyamantree Surakshit Sushaasit Shahar (Safe City). It is to be completed by August 30, 2030.

Last week, the telecom infrastructure company received an advance work order from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for services valued at ₹166.38 crore, inclusive of taxes. RailTel said the contract is service-based and is to be executed by July 31, 2028.

RailTel reported a 36% increase in its first quarter net profit at ₹66 crore for the first quarter from the previous year. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 28% to ₹133 crore in the June quarter from ₹104 crore in the previous year. The operating margin narrowed to 17.89% compared to 18.6% in the year-ago quarter.RailTel shares were trading 0.4% up at ₹370 apiece at 10.35 am on Tuesday. it has declined 10.4% in the past month,
