Railway Stocks Crash: IRFC, RVNL, IRCON shares fall 10% after FY26 allocation in Budget 2025

India’s state-run and private railway-linked stocks like IRFC Ltd., RVNL Ltd., IRCON International Ltd., RailTel Ltd. and IRCTC Ltd. have seen a sharp sell-off of up to 6% after their budgetary allocation for financial year 2026.

Shares of IRFC ended over 6% lower, while those of RVNL and IRCON ended trading with losses of over 9% each. Shares of RailTel ended 7% lower despite multiple order wins earlier in the day worth ₹220 crore.

Budget documents show that the allocation to the railways sector has remained unchanged for the railways sector at ₹2.51 lakh crore for financial year 2026. The allocation for financial year 2025 was also at ₹2.51 lakh crore.

Allocation for rolling stock for railways stands at ₹45,530 crore. Allocation for signalling and telecom stood at ₹6,800 crore, while for electrification projects stood at ₹6,150 crore.
Shares of IRFC ended 6.4% lower on Saturday at ₹141.45.Shares of RVNL ended 9% lower at ₹433.45.

Shares of IRCON ended 9.3% lower at ₹200.

Shares of RailTel ended 7% lower at ₹379.

Shares of Titagarh Rail ended 6.4% lower at ₹955.

Shares of Jupiter Wagons ended 6% lower at ₹377.5
