RBI expands citizen’s charter to 204 services, rationalises timelines for 11

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday (July 1) announced a comprehensive revision of its Citizens’ Charter, expanding the number of listed services to 204 and rationalising the timelines for 11 of them.Previously, RBI services were categorised under two heads — Timelines for Regulatory Approvals with 133 services, and the Citizens’ Charter with 58 services. These have now been merged under the single banner of the Citizens’ Charter, covering services for both regulated entities and citizens.

According to the RBI, 180 of the services are available through the PRAVAAH platform, 14 via over-the-counter or offline modes, and 10 through other online platforms such as the Auditor Allocation System (AAS) and e-Kuber.

RBI stated that the move is part of its ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, responsiveness, and transparency in service delivery.Last month, the RBI released the June 2025 edition of its monthly bulletin, where it has flagged heightened global uncertainty triggered by trade policy risks and rising geopolitical tensions. Despite this, it was observed that India’s economy remains resilient.The RBI said high-frequency indicators for May 2025 present a mixed picture. Industrial and services activity remained strong. PMI for services was steady at 58.8, and manufacturing PMI stood at 57.6, well above the long-term average.Also Read: How RBI policy delivers a double bonanza to real estateHowever, urban demand slowed sharply. Passenger vehicle sales declined, especially in the entry-level segment. In contrast, rural demand improved. Two-wheeler sales picked up in May, indicating steady rural consumption.
