Reliance Power board approves fundraise of up to ₹9,000 crore via QIP, FPO and NCDs

Anil Ambani-run Reliance Power Limited on Wednesday (July 16) said the board of directors has approved plans to raise up to ₹9,000 crore through a combination of equity and debt instruments.The company will seek enabling authorisation from shareholders to raise up to ₹6,000 crore through the issuance of equity shares and/or equity-linked instruments and/or other eligible securities to qualified institutional buyers by way of a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP), follow-on public offer (FPO), or a combination thereof.
Additionally, the Board has approved the issuance of secured or unsecured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of up to ₹3,000 crore, in one or more tranches or series, on a private placement basis or otherwise.

The specific terms and conditions of the proposed offerings will be decided by the board following shareholder approval at the appropriate time.

Fourth Quarter ResultsReliance Power reported a net profit of ₹125.6 crore for the fourth quarter that ended March 31, 2025. In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, Reliance Power posted a net loss of ₹397.6 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The company’s revenue from operations dipped 1% to ₹1,978 crore as against ₹1,997 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal. At the operating level, EBITDA jumped 1,109% to ₹589.8 crore in the fourth quarter of this fiscal over ₹48.8 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.

EBITDA margin stood at 29.8% in the reporting quarter as compared to 2.4% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.

Shares of Reliance Power Ltd ended at ₹66.06, up by ₹1.54, or 2.39%, on the BSE.
