Asked about the exchange, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Zelenskiy and other Ukrainian officials had frequently made inappropriate statements.

While he refrained from commenting on specific polling numbers, Peskov said Ukrainian leaders had increasingly resorted to unacceptable language when referring to foreign heads of state.
“Often, representatives of the Ukrainian regime, especially in recent months, allow themselves to say absolutely unacceptable things about heads of other states. Of course, for many heads of state about whom such statements are made, this is absolutely unacceptable,” he added.
Peskov also pointed to growing strains in US-Ukraine relations, suggesting Washington was becoming frustrated with Kyiv’s handling of foreign financial aid.
“We see that there are certain differences between Washington and Kyiv,” he said, accusing Ukraine of mismanaging foreign taxpayer funds and resisting oversight efforts on past expenditures.
The remarks come at a time of mounting tensions between Kyiv and Moscow, as Ukraine continues to push for Western support in its war against Russia.
