RVNL bags ₹179 crore signalling and telecom works order from IRCON

State-owned Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Thursday (August 14) said it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from IRCON International Limited for a ₹178.64 crore project involving comprehensive signalling and telecommunications works.The scope of work includes the supply of various signalling, telecommunications and electronic in-motion weighbridge (EIMWB) materials; installation, testing and commissioning of distributed/centralised electronic interlocking (EI) installations at 10 new stations — Surakachhar, Block Cabin, Katghora Road, Bhingra, Putuwa, Matin, Sendurgarh, Putipakhana, Dhangawan and Bhadi.

It also covers the installation of six new intermediate block signalling (IBS) systems in specified sections between Bhingra and Pendra Road.

Additionally, the project entails the installation, testing and commissioning of a new section control system with headquarters and wayside train control communication equipment, a new telephone exchange, and EIMWBs at designated locations.Alterations and modifications will also be carried out at the existing panel interlocking installation at Kusmunda Block Station yard and the existing electronic interlocking installation at the East Cabin of the SECL Silo Siding yard, along with other related works.

The contract, awarded under general contract conditions, is to be executed within 11 months, including the monsoon period. The order value of ₹178.64 crore includes transportation, insurance, taxes and duties. RVNL noted that the project falls under its normal course of business.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd ended at ₹324.20, down by ₹2.05, or 0.63%, on the BSE.
