The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has extended the bid submission deadline for its ongoing Green Ammonia tender under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the agency said in a notification on Monday. The new deadline for submitting bids is now June 30, revised from the earlier schedule, giving prospective bidders additional time to finalise proposals.
The tender, issued on June 7, 2024, falls under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme – Mode 2A, Tranche 1. It aims to facilitate the production and long-term supply of 724,000 metric tonnes of Green Ammonia annually to 13 identified fertiliser plants across India.
The move is part of India’s broader push to decarbonise its industrial sector and reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, with Green Ammonia emerging as a key component for clean energy transition, particularly in fertiliser production.SECI, a nodal agency under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, is responsible for implementing key parts of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which targets the production of 5 million metric tonnes of Green Hydrogen per annum by 2030.
