Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex rose 303 points to end at 84,059, while the Nifty gained 89 points to close at 25,638. The Nifty Bank index advanced 237 points to finish at 57,444, led by strong contributions from ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, and SBI. Nearly 40 of the Nifty 50 stocks ended in the green, indicating widespread participation in the rally.Among the top weekly gainers on the Nifty were Jio Financial Services, Adani Enterprises, and Hindalco. On the flip side, ONGC, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and HCLTech were the biggest laggards. In the midcap space, HPCL, IDBI Bank, and Polycab led the gains, while KPIT Technologies, Oil India, and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders ended as top losers.On Friday, the market ended near the day’s high in a largely rangebound session, with the Nifty closing above the 25,600 mark. PSU banks posted modest gains of nearly 1% after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urged lenders to step up credit growth. IndusInd Bank gained 3% after sources indicated that top private sector bankers are in the race for the CEO position. Jio Financial Services closed 3.5% higher at the day’s high following SEBI’s approval for its joint venture with BlackRock.Akzo Nobel jumped 7% after finalising a deal with JSW Paints, while HPCL rose over 4.5% amid a sharp drop in crude oil prices, which declined more than 11% this week. Godfrey Phillips surged 5% to a record high, extending its 2025 rally to 79%. Dixon Technologies also saw a gain of over 1% on the back of a positive brokerage note.
