Earlier, reports had said that Munir was invited to the US military parade in Washington DC. The White House later denied these reports saying that no foreign military leaders were invited to the ceremony.”This is false. No foreign military leaders were invited,” a White House official told media, reported The Hindu.
General Munir was recently promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. Munir, who has served as the country’s 11th chief of army staff since 2022, becomes only the second individual in Pakistan’s history to hold the title of field marshal, following former president Ayub Khan.
