On a year-on-year basis, net profit grew 20% from ₹152 crore, revenue increased 23.4% from ₹922 crore, and EBITDA rose 12.6% from ₹251.9 crore, though margin declined from 27.3% in the same period last year.

Revenue from Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) contributed 32% to Q2 FY26 revenue. The company successfully developed, tested, and validated rare-earth-free motors for electric vehicle applications, including ferrite-assisted synchronous reluctance motors for electric three-wheelers and light commercial vehicles, as well as lightweight rare-earth magnet motors for electric two-wheelers.
For H1 FY26, Sona BLW posted revenue of ₹1,994 crore with 10% YoY growth, EBITDA of ₹492 crore with a margin of 24.6%, and PAT of ₹297 crore with a net profit margin of 14.6%, marking a 4% YoY increase. EV programs contributed 70% to the net order book of ₹23,600 crore as of September 30, 2025.
During H1 FY26, revenue from BEV declined 21% YoY to ₹475 crore, accounting for 30% of total revenue. The company added four new EV programs, bringing the total awarded programs to 62 across 32 customers.

Key developments include Sona Comstar receiving its first order for the driveline plant in Mexico to supply differential assemblies to a North American OEM of Recreational Off-highway Vehicles, adding ₹2.6 billion to the order book, with production expected to start in Q2 FY28.The company has also been nominated for two programs to supply integrated motor controller modules for active suspension systems, valued at ₹8.2 billion, with production expected in Q2 FY27.
Sona Comstar signed an MOU with Neura Robotics of Germany to jointly develop advanced technologies, components, and subassemblies for robotics and humanoids. Meanwhile, a proposed joint venture with JNT in China has been put in abeyance, with both companies remaining open to selective collaboration in the future.

Vivek Vikram Singh, MD & Group CEO, said, “We achieved our highest-ever quarterly revenue, EBITDA, and net profit in Q2 FY26. Our revenue grew by 24% year-on-year, primarily driven by the expansion of our electric vehicle traction motor and railway business in India. Due to the unavailability of heavy rare-earth magnets, we shifted to alternative motor designs and now manufacture light rare-earth magnet motors for electric two-wheelers.”
Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd ended at ₹483.65, up by ₹4.90, or 1.02%, on the BSE.
