The 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela has commenced in Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana, offering visitors a vibrant blend of traditional arts, crafts, music, and cuisine. The festival, which began on February 7, will run until February 23, 2025, attracting artisans and tourists from across India and around the world.Organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism, in collaboration with multiple Union Ministries, the mela serves as a global platform to celebrate and promote diverse artistic traditions.Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the event, highlighting its significance in preserving India’s artistic heritage. He emphasised that the Surajkund Mela is more than just a marketplace—it’s a crucial platform for artisans to showcase their craftsmanship on an international stage.
The opening ceremony was attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, State Tourism Minister Arvind Sharma, and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goel.Key Details
